What does DOPE do? Dope serves those who are in need. Whatever that need may be… we try to fulfill it We primarily serve the Homeless at 1401 JFK Blvd. We also host events i.e job readiness, back to school, etc Who do we serve? We serve anyone who’s hungry. Our Homeless Feedings/ Outreaches are focused on the Homeless but we will not not deny anyone walking by a plate. Where and when? (Include end time) We serve every 2 weeks 8pm. Setup 7:45pm and we usually end our outreaches at 9pm. How can you get in contact with us? Send us a message or simply show up and we will provide assignments then. Can an individual volunteer online? How? Yes! You can share our posts with your networks. You can organize donations for us i.e collecting season appropriate clothing. Is there a follow up procedure after an individual shows interest in the organization? Yes! We contact you via the method you reached out with instructions for the outreach What time should a volunteer show up? What would you do when you show up (include set-up, and what to do if you’re late) 7:45pm -8:30pm. Please send us a message if you have any changes. Is there an age requirement for volunteers? All Children 16 & younger must be accompanied by a guardian/adult. How long is a volunteer expected to stay at an outreach? No limit. If a volunteer has time restraints please let us know as that will affect your Volunteer assignment. What experience can a volunteer expect at an outreach? Fun, Enlightening and Mindset Shifting. What should ppl know or what’s crucial info is missing ? Please wear closed toe/ comfortable shoes and clothes you don’t mind “getting dirty” If the weather is bad (Snow, Rain etc) what should I expect? We still serve in all weather. If it’s raining we will move our location up the steps to the covered part of the municipal services building. Can I take photos when I serve? With Permission from a D.O.P.E Team Leader Only. Do I need to sign a waiver? Yes, yearly. Can I complete ‘court ordered’ community service with DOPE? Yes, you can. How do I organize a fundraiser for DOPE? Or can I do a Facebook Fundraiser for Dope. Yes, through Facebook/Instagram fundraiser and it’s free and easy even a go fund me is acceptable! Specific requirements to serve? Complete DOPE Waiver |
